The Logistics Analyst will actively work with Corporate Commodity Managers and Business Unit Materials Management to manage and refine the REV Group Freight Logistics program.  The  Logistics Analyst will identify trends and work with Business Unit Materials Managers to balance cost & service level for inbound & outbound freight.  The Logistics Analyst will assist suppliers and REV locations with shipment issues, resolve carrier billing discrepancies, and act as primary REV contact with freight carriers.  The Logistics Analyst will be an integral part of transforming the supply chain and developing an industry leading cost structure.  

 

Location based on division, but projects can span any location

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Support REV Suppliers and Business Units on problem shipments
  • Extract data from various sources to analyze and report on trends, Key Performance Indicators, and cost savings opportunities
  • Lead logistics related cost savings activities with support from Business Unit Materials Managers
  • Develop and maintain in-transit reporting to keep Business Unit Materials teams up to date on in-transit shipments
  • Negotiate and maintain Truckload, LTL, & small package carrier contracts
  • Resolve carrier billing discrepancies utilizing understanding of freight characteristics and tariff agreements
  • Audit carrier performance, hold at least quarterly reviews with key carriers
  • Proactively communicate on trends, help Business Units implement countermeasures to address service issues, cost increases, weather disruptions, or other issues that may disrupt material flow
  • Assist in freight claims management process.  Lead efforts to reduce claims where possible.
  • Assist in efforts to reduce environmental impact through shipment consolidation & returnable packaging

 

Qualifications:

 

  • BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or equivalent field of study
  • 3 years prior work experience in Logistics or Supply Chain with a focus on transportation management
  • Ability to Travel 20%

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Ability to read & understand carrier tariffs and contracts.
  • Familiarity with freight logistics processes and key cost drivers.
  • Experience with international logistics & US trade compliance.
  • Project Management with ability to manage multiple action items and changing priorities effectively.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, V-lookup).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Power Point.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well within a cross-functional team.
  • Transportation, Supply chain, engineering, or quality control experience.
