Job Grade:


SCOPE: Perform duties to diagnose, rebuild and install any range of pumping and associated piping systems as part of the process of rebuilding large, custom, special purpose vehicles of any description, where work is unusual and difficult and only general methods are available.

Electrical:    Must have the experience, knowledge and ability to run diagnostics, programming and make repairs to electrical systems on ALL E-ONE vehicles.

Mechanical:    Must be able to detect and make necessary repairs to parts and components of the vehicle when required.


  1. Work from shop orders, manuals, prints and instructions.
  2. Review shop orders to determine requirements. Disassemble pumps and valves, diagnose problems, determine extent of repairs, parts and materials required and rebuild and repair any range of pumps and valves to suit vehicle requirements.
  3. Install new and rebuild existing valves, foam systems, gauges, control lines, hand controls and similar components. Plumb to existing control panel or layout new panels to accommodate controls and systems in any range of company or competitor vehicle, where positioning, mounting and installation procedures differ based vehicle and component configurations and available space.
  4. Test pumps and related systems to check for leaks and proper operation. Make required repairs and adjustments. Able to do a pump performance tests and all foam testing on trucks.
  5. Make any required visual checks of component placement, alignment and security. Complete any required documentation. Monitor the availability of assembly parts and supplies stored in work area and notify supervisor of the need to replenish stock.
  6. Responsible for setting up and checking the work of others, assisting and instructing them and directing and maintaining the flow of their work.
  7. Able to help/assist service and warranty with field problems and willing to go into the field if need be.Retrofit or modify product to meet engineering and/or customer changes.
  8. Set up prescribed tests to check the operation of electrical components, including lights, sirens, radios, and warning systems. Diagnose problems, locate source of trouble, rewire or replace units as required. Be able to trace wires, examine connections, and replace wiring and/or connectors. Test operation and reassemble repaired units.
  9. Set up, change over, and operate the complete range of equipment and machine tools in the assigned area. This may include CNC equipment and machines.
  10. Capable of performing scrubs of print packages, BOM’s, and shop orders; correct discrepancies.
  11. Be a technical advisor to the supervisor and assist with planning of daily activities and accomplishing weekly/daily commitments.
  12. EVT qualification and AC Certification required. CDL not required however appreciated.
  13. Assist the supervisor in the training and orientation of new and transferred team members into the department.
  14. Must be able to perform within physical requirements including, but not limited to 40 lb single person lift; kneeling, squatting and standing for long periods of time. Ability to wear fall protection devices as needed when working at heights above 4 feet.
  15. Must be able to participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities.


Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.


Air and power driven tools including but not limited to: hand drills, drill press, impact gun, grinders, die grinders, cut off wheels, DA sanders, dynafiles, wrenches, air guns, heat guns, stud welders, electrical test stand, volt meter, amp meter, computer, engine/transmission data reader, and overhead crane; fork truck training and operation required.


Valid Driver’s License required to drive company vehicles.

  1. Lift/Push/Pull- Exerting up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  2. Climbing- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  3. Stooping- Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  4. Kneeling- Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
