The essential functions of this position include:

  • Maintain written health and safety plans including emergency action plans.
  • Perform frequent inspections to verify compliance with regulatory and insurance requirements
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and prepare an analysis of the accident/incident reports
  • Oversee Ergonomic Improvement activities
  • Collect samples with precise instruments to evaluate employee exposures to dusts, fumes, noise, gases and vapors
  • Co-ordinate and perform health and safety and first-aid training
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the company’s machine guarding, Lock, Tag, Try and emergency equipment efforts and record keeping.
  • Co-ordinate the employee hearing conservation and respiratory protection programs
  • Co-ordinate and provide First Aid treatment for injured employees
  • Co-ordinate and maintain the company’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) licensing program.
  • Train and educate forklift operators to qualify for licensing
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheet  (MSDS) libraries



  • 5 Years experience in heavy manufacturing , health and safety
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety/Health or equivalent experience
  • Ability to walk, daily throughout the numerous buildings and properties.
  • Ability to walk outdoors in all types of weather to perform observations and inspections
  • Ability to interact with employees, the public, government and regulatory officials in a professional manner.
  • Ability to write, speak and train in a clear and professional manner
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications
