The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for managing the Laser, Plasma, CNC, Finishing, and Brake Press departments, ensuring 100% on-time completion of production in these areas in accordance with the plant production schedule. The Supervisor is responsible for establishing required staffing levels (all shifts), training and developing personnel, managing employees’ schedules, completing annual employee performance reviews, setting departmental and individual performance objectives, and driving continuous improvement. The Supervisor works closely with supporting departments—Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Production Control, and Human Resources—to meet overall performance objectives.


Responsibilities :


  • Determine the required staffing level (all shifts) for the Fabrication department’s business plan.
  • Select, train and develop department personnel.
  • Complete annual employee performance review, including setting individual objectives and identifying training and performance improvement requirements
  • Manage the department operating schedule and employee vacation schedules in accordance with production requirements.
  • Set departmental performance objectives and establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and report performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of department performance.
  • Actively encourage employees to suggest improvements and facilitate the adoption of their ideas.
  • Ensure that Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, and Cost objectives are visible, understood by department employees, and proactively managed.
  • Maintain a high level of 5S throughout the fabrication departments.
  • Ensure that equipment and tooling is well-maintained (working closely with Maintenance)
  • Participate in daily management walk-through, ensuring KPIs are highly visible.
  • Elevate issues and improvement suggestions.


Qualifications :


  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication operations, including proficiency with CNC equipment.
  • 1-5 years of supervisory leadership experience in sheet metal fabrication operations.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a cross-functional leadership team to achieve plant-level objectives
  • Computer Skills: Familiar with Windows Operating System®, Microsoft Office Suites® and experience with an MRP system or ability to learn MRP system transactions associated with this position.
  • Ability to read engineering blue prints is preferred
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication  


Physical demand:


Standing and/or walking for 70% of the day.
