Job Summary:
This is a customer support position responsible for repairing and servicing fire-emergency vehicles. In addition, the candidate must be able to solve customer problems and conduct repairs with the utmost level of safety and accuracy while being called upon to perform assembly & light manufacturing tasks. The candidate must have an excellent mechanical skillset and be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install mounting brackets and other equipment per customer requirements.
- Read and implement work orders, specifications, manuals, schematics, prints, and instructions for each customization.
- Perform intake PDIs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on a continuous basis.
- Cut and install Turtle tile per customer requirements.
- Work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Develop personal, professional, and technical skills on an ongoing basis.
- Uphold and promote REV behaviors.
- Complete documentation thoroughly and timely according to company requirements.
- Verify the materials and equipment used in compliance with guidelines.
- Must have basic hand tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, wrenches, plyers, and battery drill and impact driver.
- Work with the supervisor to complete tasks for each unit in a timely manner.
- Follow work instructions given by sales and follow pictures if provided.
- Be able to protect the area around the area that is being serviced.
- Troubleshoot basic DC electrical circuits. Lighting, Door Ajar.
- Proficient with a multimeter.
- Install new DC circuits such as USB outlets by tying them into existing chassis electrical systems.
- Install and program radio and intercom systems. Including antennas.
- Mount and install air horns and sirens.
- Mount and install additional lighting per work order.
- All other assigned tasks and duties.
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Must be able to read a tape measure down to 16th of an inch.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Exposure to extreme weather variances
- Possess and maintain a CDL “B” with air brakes.
- Heavy Truck automotive experience
