Job Summary:

The Vice President/General Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership by establishing and implementing goals, strategies, plans and policies that continuously improve the overall effectiveness and profitability of the company. This position is also responsible for directing and managing the various key operations within the company that may include: Production, Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, Quality, Shipping and Transportation. This position has overall responsibility to ensure quality of products, ISO Quality Management System, Customer/Dealer satisfaction, and compliance to regulations established by Local, State and Federal agencies. 



  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organizations fiscal functions and performance.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of mid and long-term planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory activities and actions. Leads and is actively involved in existing and new product development/improvement activities to ensure the company remains innovative and competitive in its product offering and is a “market driven” organization.
  • Develop credibility for the company by providing timely and accurate analysis of operations, budgets, financial reports, and industry trends in order to assist the President in performing his responsibilities.
  • Influences the sale of company products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs resulting in revenue generation through participation in industry related seminars, meetings, conferences, display and dealer shows.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation, efficiency, and profitability of the company.
  • Maintains close involvement with facilities and equipment to ensure the company is taking advantage of applicable latest technologies and practices.
  • Has ultimate responsibility for quality of the products and processes, and as noted by ISO, has ultimate responsibility for customer satisfaction.
  • Continual improvement and development of less senior staff through education of departmental managers on performance expectations and results of performance including improvement activities.
  • When related open positions become available, reviews applications, conducts interviews, approves hiring and terminations, performance reviews, changes in compensation/status, etc.


Requirements and (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Finance, Engineering or similar, Master’s preferred.
  • An experienced leader and business executive with appropriate industry experience preferably in the specialty vehicle industry.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
  • A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Establishes creditability throughout the organization including corporate as an effective problem solver, be viewed as approachable and as a mentor to people within the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents including legal.
  •  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints, and the ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, dealers, customers and corporate.
  • Computer proficient with a variety of software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and other software utilized within the organization.
