SUMMARY:
The Graphic Designer position is responsible for driving design principles and executing design for Spartan’s websites, print collateral, email campaigns, social media, and digital and print advertising. Working closely with a team of demand generation specialists and product-specific SMEs, the Designer will be responsible for developing creative concepts and solutions that drive consistency across all of Spartan’s customer-facing touch points, in pursuit of increased awareness, engagement, consideration, and market-share.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support for graphic design, print preparation, and archiving of marketing collateral including but not limited to brochures, direct mail, digital and print ads, emails and landing pages, signage, packaging, Office templates, and logos for products and services
- Develop original ideas, concepts, and designs that align with creative briefs and input while also adhering to target audience's needs
- Partner with copywriters to develop targeted demand generation campaigns
- Create marketing pieces that resonate with audiences and compel them to act
- Serve as a steward of our brands, maintaining visual and messaging consistency across entire suite of communications
- Execute and shepherd approved designs and concepts through the production process to ensure standards of quality and vision are met
- Support the team with photography, video capture, and photo editing
- Supports project development, including but not limited to consulting with client and management to determine scope of project and interfacing with outside vendors
- Ensures quality of final product before release
- Maintain high level of knowledge and skill with all computer software related to the design and production of print materials and web site/pages
- Assist with strategizing, designing, and producing visual communications
- Build web pages by formatting text and graphics and developing functionality by using technical knowledge of web design applications
- Create high-quality, attractive design for web sites; maintain and create the look and feel of the overall site and/or specific content areas
- Monitor functionality of the web sites; provide direct resolution or collaborate with other team members to resolve issues
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field preferred
- Minimum of five years related experience
- Expert knowledge of print and digital design principals, tools and industry standards
- Understanding of core marketing principals; ability to use design to drive behavior and engagement
- Editorial layout experience, i.e. newsletters and publications
- Web proficiency in CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, ASP.net, HTML, and Flash preferred
- Intermediate level user on Microsoft office applications
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite-Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Premier; WordPress, and MS Office
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
