QRT Members are responsible for fixing non-conformities in all areas, including... finishing and testing the fire truck before final shipment, and completing complex troubleshooting, and facilitating customer and engineering changes.

              

              

                                                                                                                                                                                                  

Duties and Responsibilities:         

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:     

Diagnose and solve complex manufacturing problems                                                                                                                              

Install missing components or replace defective components as needed                                                                                            

Eliminate any potential defects, based on write-ups and self-inspection                                                                                              

Perform advanced electrical, plumbing, or mechanical troubleshooting                                                                                              

Assess and perform mechanical and electrical repairs                                                                                                                              

Eliminate any potential defects based on write-ups and self-inspection                                                                                               

Assist with major reworks and projects                                                                                                                                          

Document and report defects to Quality                                                                                                                                       

Lead resolution of electrical defects and reworks                                                                                                                        

Interact with engineering on current manufacturing issues                                                                                                                    

Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate                                                                                                                           

Maintain documentation for shop floor applications                                                                                                                                 

Perform function tests                                                                                                                                                         

Lead quality, cost, and productivity improvement efforts                                                                                                         

Support manufacturing  and OEM service                                                                                                                                                    

Perform rework, as needed                                                                                                                                                               

Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials,                                                                          

purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues                                                                                                                                              

Complete final torque verification, fluid top-off, weatherproofing, etc.                                                                                               

Maneuver fire trucks around the facility                                                                                                                                        

Self-check work and inspect prior processes                                                                                                                                                

Meet production goals                                                                                                                                                        

Maintain a clean and safe work area                                                                                                                                              

Initiate process improvements when able                                                                                                                                                    

Work in close proximity to customer, as needed

Qualifications:   

High school diploma or equivalent experience                                                                                                                             

Ability to use basic hand and power tools                                                                                                                                                    

Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements                                                                                                         

Ability to work in a team environment                                                                                                                                            

Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines                                                                                                                      

Ability to retain and apply instructions

SCHEDULE:                                                                                                                                                                             

Hours depend on business and department needs.  All positions are subject to overtime as needed.  Overtime can be scheduled by adding additional days to the scheduled days for the week or by extending the hours worked.  See a supervisor for information on overtime worked in a particular department.
