This position offers a flexible work location. We are open to the following: Remote Work from anywhere in the US. If you are located near one of our facilities and would like to work in an office we are open to that situation. We are also open to relocation and ideally we would want someone to relocate to FL, Milwaukee or Indiana.

 

The Commodities and Strategic Sourcing Manager (Electrical Category) will be focused on managing the spend and commercial activities with the key suppliers within the specified category. This position will take ownership of the spend category, collaborate with all business units, develop and communicate category strategies, and ensure the sourced supply chain can meet all value-added requirements.  This position will deliver cost savings and value improvements in the supply chain in accordance with the approved sourcing strategies. Additionally, this position will proactively monitor and evaluate specific market conditions and develop strategic countermeasures as required. This position requires travel up to 25%, both domestic and international.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop 3-year sourcing strategies and gain approval to execute them from Commodities leader and REV senior leadership.
  • Evaluate suppliers’ core competencies, performance ability, and areas for risk.
  • Execute enterprise-wide and local sourcing events to implement cost savings.
  • Negotiate, draft, and implement favorable supplier agreements/contracts.
  • Evaluate market conditions and negotiate material prices based on category price fluctuations.
  • Locate suppliers in high-growth regions that can augment domestic supply to improve performance.
  • Lead Supplier Selection process for assigned categories.
  • Take preemptive actions to mitigate or eliminate the effect of price increase requests through supply agreements, dual sourcing, competitive bidding, etc.
  • Defend against price increases through creative and prescribed tactical means.
  • Escalation point for chronic supplier issues, such as major quality and on-time delivery concerns.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and drive performance improvements.
  • Implement supply chain financing solutions utilizing outside banking partners to drive working capital value.
  • Find and facilitate VA/VE (value analysis and value engineering) solutions to support a standard productivity approach.
  • Manage a standard QBR (quarterly business review) approach that improves supplier connectivity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Drive working capital Improvements through negotiated extensions of payment terms and inventory consignment, e.g.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present in front of leadership and various functions.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience implementing projects across multiple locations and business units or divisions.
  • Ability to navigate within a matrix organization.
  • Solid awareness of operations and business processes.
  • Passion for change and continuous improvement, must be self-motivated, have initiative, and have a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated high-performance levels and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid project management skills and the capability to lead change.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or equivalent education required.
  • Typically requires 5+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Category management experience preferred.
  • CPM, APICS, CPIM or CSCP National Certification preferred.

 

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • Remote (work from home)
  • Travel 50%  both domestic and internationally.
