The Clerk Inventory Control position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, performing cycle counting duties, as well as assisting in other functions of the materials team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordination and process of daily cycle count assignments, research, and reconciliation of discrepancies in a timely manner
- Work with material supervisor and manager to review and implement corrective actions / root cause analysis to mitigate future risk of repeat discrepancies
- Location confirmation, research to locate misclassified inventory
- Resolve inventory problems in a timely manner
- Maintain product identification and location program
- Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand; weigh and mark product displaying remaining product left
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing and review of material receipts, transfers, adjustments, and issuance
- Publish required weekly and quarterly inventory metrics
- Assist in required processes for yearly physical inventory requirements including location program
- Ship short coordination to ensure proper transactions are completed and communicate to stakeholders
- Process freight transactions that may include and not limited to shipping out quality part, return parts, returnable racks, and freight claims
- Communicate and develop process enhancements
- Participate on projects with ICA and Material distribution teams
- Assist materials department; receiving, put away, inventory transfers to and from production area as needed
- Operate motorized material handling equipment (hand truck or forklift) when required; maintain valid truck/stand up license. Includes completion of daily maintenance log and proper maintenance of equipment
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write notes and memos.
- Must possess math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
- Demonstrate ability to speak clearly to be understood in one-on-one conversations.
- Strong problem-solving skills to assess product output relative to specifications.
- Basic computer and operating systems knowledge.
- Support an optimized production environment by applying the principles of Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: (Select education and/or other certifications that may be either required or preferred to perform the job)
High School Diploma or GED: Required
Functional Experience: 3-5 years; Experience with manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, or related fields
Additional Requirements:
- Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended timeframes.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl, and kneel as needed.
