SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer-Truck Sales position is responsible for ensuring the companies sales and design software is up-to-date relative to product offerings and engineering constraints for Spartan’s emergency response product line to ensure customer requirements are met.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively and continuously gain enhanced product knowledge about chassis systems and components through discussion, research, and training with other internal associates
- Effectively process quote/order feasibility for design and function
- Collaborate with engineering and sales to understand product offerings and engineering constraints and apply them within the sales tool
- Coordinate product design information with cross-function teams (purchasing, scheduling, production, customer service, etcetera) to ensure customer requirements are met, including support of customer / project teams
- Troubleshoot configuration rules (option compatibility) issues and implement corrective action(s)
- Understand engineering design charts data and extract bills of material data
- Support the creation and development of process flows for the management of data within the product configuration development tool
- Create feasibility design layouts
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Business, Technology, or Engineering or equivalent experience required
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Advanced-level computer skills are required
- Intermediate-level user in computer aided design (CAD), preferably Solid Works
- Basic knowledge of computer programming and the willingness to learn more
- Intermediate-level user in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Previous Technical Writing Experience is preferred

- Proven knowledge (or ability to quickly learn) of the company’s’ assembly process, products, and components, as it applies to the use and implementation of configurator systems
