The Supervisor Production position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the paint and body shop team members with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consistently model a positive attitude and demonstrate a “can do” mindset
- Conduct small and large team meetings to communicate plant performance to the KPI’s
- Train, or facilitate the training of, new associates in all aspects of their job function
- Administer policies and procedures
- Communicate and support strict adherence to quality standards
- Ensure quality goals and objectives are met on a daily basis
- Ensure efficient location of materials
- Monitor scrap for undue waste
- Prepare reject tags, as required, and manage this process per policy
- Monitor and improve the management of inventory
- Passionate about improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Identify root cause and implement corrective action where gaps to the goals exist
- Support new and current team member activities – hiring, performance, management, transfers, promotions and disciplinary processes
- Manage vacation approvals, time card approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
- Motivate, coach, reward, and discipline associates being supervised; resolve personnel issues
- Maintain a high degree of visibility and access to associates on shop floor throughout the shift
- Schedule work assignments to maximize production efficiency
- Develop and monitor staffing plans to execute the schedule on time at the planned MPU or better
- Meet production goals
- Maintain a clean and safe plant
- Initiate process improvements
- Support 5S initiatives
- Communicate with cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
- Work in close proximity with customer, as needed
- Solve complex problems with minimal assistance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field preferred
- Minimum of five years manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership skills required; vehicle assembly line experience in a leadership role preferred
- Possess a CDL, or be willing to obtain
- Knowledge of paint processes
- Clean driving record
- Positive attitude
- Proven ability to plan and handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Creative and innovative team player
- Intermediate computer skills are required
- Demonstrated experience in personnel management
- Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Strong:

- Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
