Job Description

Looking for an organized, energetic candidate to join the fast-paced world of Accounting and Finance at Fleetwood RV. We’re looking for an exceptional person with accounting and related finance experience combined with systems knowledge, a customer service passion, analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills.

 

The position of Staff Accountant, in accordance with established policies and procedures, will be directly responsible for a variety of accounting duties; including the preparation and processing of journal entries including daily cash receipts entries, preparing balance sheet account reconciliations, weekly cash forecasting, review of AR / AP aging(s) & 3-way match reports.

 

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a quick learner, and will have the ability to efficiently manage various high-priority responsibilities. Candidate must possess advanced excel skills, have experience working with large data files, and extensive experience in analyzing transactional data.

 

Key Responsibilities

Support the entries and maintenance of the general ledger by ensuring proper, accurate, and timely recording of transactions in accordance with GAAP and Company policies.

Review and analyze transactional source documentation and prepare monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations including roll-forwards.

Support current Internal Control environment to ensure that accounting records are accurate and in compliance with GAAP. Document current processes and procedures as necessary.

Heavily involved with the month end process and reporting.

Assist with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) to ensure company is in compliance. AR & AP Aging review and maintenance.

Assist with annual physical inventory.

Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

 

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 0-3 years of previous experience in accounting related functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable & receivable, and cash management.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail.

Proven ability to interact with various departments across an organization.

Previous new system/process implementation experience which includes identifying gaps where system enhancements can be made.

Strong Advanced Excel skills & experience working with large data files. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong sense of urgency with all work-related tasks.

Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity environment. Self-motivated and organized with good time management skills.

 

Entrepreneurial attitude and work ethic. Ability to multi-task with various projects.
