Since 1982, Goldshield has set the bar in the fiberglass industry. Our facility is located in Decatur, Indiana, where we manufacture fiberglass parts for Fleetwood, Honda, and Daimler. Goldshield also manufactures fiberglass for school buses, emergency vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.

A day in the life of a Sander at Goldshield:

  • Sanding gelcoat surfaces to prepare parts for primer and paint application.
  • Performing sanding duties while meeting quality and quantity standards.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, materials, and supplies with minimal scrap.
  • Following housekeeping and safety standards at all times.
  • Supporting production needs across the sanding area when assigned.

 

Required education, skills, and experience to be successful:

  • Preferred 1-year experience in sanding, fiberglass, paint prep, finishing, manufacturing, or production.
  • Preferred high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to complete required Goldshield training certification.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards while preparing fiberglass surfaces.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work well with other employees.
  • Successful completion of the drug and background screening.

  • Ability to work with exposure to styrene vapor below 50 ppm.
