Primary Functions:


The Supervisor position will direct the activities of a recognized manufacturing process on an assigned shift. The Supervisor will oversee the accomplishment of work through assemblers and assumes responsibility for achieving the production schedule and meeting quality and safety standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to provide a safe, respectful and positive work environment
  • Responsible for establishing plans for training, cross training, development and evaluation of assigned associates.
  • Ability to achieve established goals for labor, material usage, scrap and safety.
  • Ability to achieve established quality standards.
  • Ability to implement problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to perform written evaluations and disciplinary action when required.
  • Ability to maintain good associate relations between departments and shifts.
  • Ability to perform written assignments, reports etc.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as directed by management
  • Responsible for managing timecards, vacation and other time-keeping functions as assigned




  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
  • Ability to read English and Metric tape measures and use measuring devices.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify problems and initiate corrective actions to solve those problems.
  • Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office including Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance
  • Ability to manage a group of people effectively to accomplish the safety, quality and production goals of the assigned area.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#’s without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
  • Ability to work with arms above head.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Hand-eye coordination.

Usually the employee will perform the majority of this job in a manufacturing environment.  However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.


The noise level in the work environment is occasionally high




  • Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and root cause analysis


Personal Protective Equipment Recommended and/or Required:


  • Safety glasses if walking in plant vicinity.
  • Earplugs if walking in plant vicinity.
