Responsible to complete various types of weld preparation, the actual welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Responsibilities

 

Proficient in assigned welding techniques

Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols

Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys and aluminum

Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)

Cut position and clamp together fabricated and raw metal products preparatory to weld.

Use of conventional and precision measuring instruments

Process inspection, certification, and documentation

Some knowledge of welding equipment maintenance

Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools

Follow all safety regulations and precautions and maintain housekeeping in the working area

 

 

Qualifications

Must be able to speak, read and understand English.

Should have good communication skills

High School diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an internal welding test.

One-year experience in various forms of welding

Must be able to climb, twist, bend and stoop.

Must have use of hands and be able to work over-head.

Must be able to stand, squat, and grasp.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Required to stand for continuous periods of time.
