Job Summary: The Assembler I in the Stripped Department is responsible for disassembling and preparing incoming van chassis for the custom conversion process. This role requires precision, care, and efficiency in removing OEM-installed parts and preparing the vehicle for customization. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work with both hand tools and basic computer systems.
Assembler responsibilities
- Perform complete interior and exterior disassembly of van chassis to prepare for conversion process.
- Label, document, and store parts and components for later reassembly or reuse.
- Accurately follow written work instructions, blueprints, pick lists, and job orders.
- Operate air and power tools, including drills, impact guns, and grinders.
- Use basic computer systems for job tracking, work order updates, and inventory.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding part issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives.
Tools and Equipment used:
Air and power-driven tools including but not limited to: Hand Drills, Drill press, Impact gun, Grinders, Die Grinders, cut off wheels, DA Sanders, Dynafiles, wrenches, air guns, heat guns, and Stud Welders.
Assembler qualifications and skills:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years’ experience in general assembly, disassembly, or automotive-related work preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to identify plumbing, electrical, and structural vehicle components.
- Ability to read and follow tape measures, diagrams, and printed instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
- Basic computer and data entry skills required.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be dependable and punctual.

- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, climbing up and down ladders and scaffolding.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 40 lbs. independently.
- Ability to work with arms above head
- Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
