Position Summary
The Builder I – Mill Room is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cutting, and assembly of wood, and other materials used in the production of custom luxury RV interiors. This entry-level position supports experienced Builders and Lead staff in executing high-quality millwork operations in accordance with company standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to cut, sand, and prepare materials for assembly.
- Assist in measuring, marking, and cutting materials according to blueprints, templates, or supervisor instructions.
- Stage and organize parts, panels, and assemblies for downstream production departments.
- Follow work orders, drawings, and quality specifications to ensure materials meet required dimensions and finish.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Mill Room, including material storage and workstations.
- Perform routine inspections on tools and equipment, reporting defects or safety issues immediately.
- Support higher-level Builders with assembly of cabinetry, panels, and components.
- Follow all company policies, including safety, quality, and production standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production flow.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in woodworking, carpentry, or manufacturing required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Basic math and measurement skills (fractions, decimals, tape measure reading).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and grow technical skills in woodworking and mill operations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds frequently.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and machinery.
