Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting production by safely transporting, receiving, staging, and distributing materials, parts, and finished goods across the facility. This role requires demonstrated experience operating a box truck to transport materials between plants or off-site locations. The Material Handler ensures materials are delivered on time, in the correct quantities, and in compliance with Midwest Automotive Design – REV Group’s safety standards, quality expectations, and operational procedures.


Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Inventory

  • Pull, stage, and deliver materials to designated production areas based on daily schedules and work orders.
  • Load and unload inbound shipments, verifying counts, condition, and accuracy of received goods.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper labeling, scanning, and documentation.
  • Assist with cycle counts, material audits, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Organize materials in racks, bins, and storage locations to support efficient workflow.

Box Truck Operation

  • Operate a company box truck to transport materials, components, or finished units between REV Group facilities or vendor locations.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured and documentation (BOLs, delivery paperwork) is complete.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe vehicle operation.
  • Follow all DOT, state, and company driving regulations.

Equipment & Safety

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, tuggers, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Adhere to Midwest-REV Safety is Life standards, wearing required PPE and following safety procedures.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment issues immediately.

Production Support

  • Respond promptly to material requests to avoid production delays.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Logistics, and Production teams to prioritize material flow.
  • Support housekeeping and organization in warehouse and production areas (5S standards).

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of material handling or warehouse experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated box truck driving experience (16–26 ft preferred).
  • Ability to operate forklifts and/or willingness to become certified.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

 

Preferred

  • Experience in automotive, RV, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., handheld scanners, ERP systems).
  • Knowledge of DOT safety and driving regulations.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment; exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate noise levels.
  • Requires frequent bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, and standing.
