The Human Resources & EHS Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our people and workplace safety initiatives. This position is responsible for providing daily HR support including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance, while also administering and maintaining programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. This role collaborates closely with leadership, employees, and external partners to promote a strong culture of safety and employee engagement.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Human Resources

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Assist in administering employee benefits, open enrollment, and employee communications.
  • Support employee relations by addressing basic questions, and escalating concerns to HR Manager as needed.
  • Monitor hourly timecard approvals for accuracy and completion in preparation for weekly processing.
  • Prepare and enter payroll maintenance adjustments.
  • Coordinate hourly attendance tracking and corrective action paperwork.
  • Coordinate hourly recruiting, interview scheduling, and onboarding processes to include new hire orientation and training.
  • Support hourly performance management processes and annual review cycles.
  • Co-chair the Employee Engagement Committee to plan and conduct employee appreciation events and culture initiatives

 

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections, follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation and training sessions.
  • Support safety committee meetings, track action items, and prepare reports.
  • Assist in reviewing incident and near miss reports, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the Worker’s Compensation process to ensure communication and event coordination for the employee and the business.
  • Accurately enter and maintain information in the EHS system
  • Help maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

 

 Business Support

  • Welcome and assist visitors to ensure a positive first impression.
  • Monitor office supplies, placing orders as needed and tracking inventory to avoid shortages.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, courier services and package deliveries.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and arranging travel logistics. 
  • Prepare meeting agendas, provide materials, take minutes, and coordinate the logistical arrangements for meetings. 
  • Prepare, edit, and format various documents, including correspondence, presentations, and reports. 
  • Assist with other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned, including data entry, budgeting, filing, research, and expense tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree required and bachelor’s degree in human resources, Safety, Business, or related field preferred. 
  • 2+ years of HR and/or EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, OSHA standards, and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (ADP experience a plus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability and willingness to work additional hours as required.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend time on the production floor conducting inspections, investigations, and safety training.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Standing, walking, and observing work processes in various environments.
