Manage the Production Supervisors, ensuring that safety, quality, and production standards and goals are met.
Organizational relationships:
- Reports to the Director of Operations.
- Directly manages multiple departments.
- Works closely with sales, materials, and engineering functions to meet company goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule labor effectively to maximize productivity.
- Plan parts needed for production requirements.
- Accomplish material and labor production goals.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping within your production line(s).
- Ensures quality assurance process is being followed.
- Supports the business planning process beginning with the Production plan and continuing through the closed MRPII to performance measurement.
- Supervises the production plan to ensure attainment of the Sales plan.
- Schedules material and human resources to meet the Production plan.
- Ensures the proper number and talent composition of the production work force in the production line(s).
- Coach, mentor, and discipline employees as necessary.
- Complete 90 day and annual reviews for subordinate leaders.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) years experience in a manufacturing facility with production supervision experience.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel to include presenting information to individuals and small groups.
- Advanced problem solving and project management skills
- Ability to lead personnel toward the achievement of company goals
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred
- Advanced PC skills including MS Office Suite and/or MRP
- Advanced time management skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
- Ability to implement and direct environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
- Must have advanced knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
- Completed Hazardous Materials Handling Operations and Hazardous Waste training.
Education and Experience:
- 4 year college degree in Engineering/Manufacturing/Business Administration preferred.
- Five (5) years experience with proficiency in the specialty vehicle or truck and bus chassis manufacturing field. Experience in managing technical personnel highly desirable.

- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#’s without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.)
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
- Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Required to handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
- Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an indoor climate-controlled area. The noise level is usually moderate. In the plant, eye protection is mandatory, hearing protection and dust mask may be required in identified areas.
