BOM Configuration Management Specialist / Systems Engineer II
Duties and Responsibilities
- Development of applications/logic relating to the assignment of Bills of Material according to customer specification in order to reduce design cycle times in the Engineering workflow.
- Lead projects to transition a primarily Engineer-To-Order (ETO) process into a workflow that is primarily Configure-To-Order (CTO). Develop process for the translation of Engineering data into a database of pre-engineered options for end-user customization.
- Support the transition to and maintenance of an ERP centric process; Collection/Compilation/Usage of Manufacturing data to present & future BOMs, BOM Structure Development, PLM Implementation/Management, etc.
- Scoping, Defining, & Managing of Projects relating to the implementation of PLM/ERP workflows.
- Identification, Release, and Full Ownership of Bill of Materials for the production build process.
- Support for the implementation and utilization of the new ECR/ECN process (ARAS) and the responsibility for coordination and administration of all Engineering Changes (ECR’s/ECN’s)
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering;Information Technology or related field
- 2+ Years experience in programming
- Experience in the use/implementation of PDM/PLM/ERP systems -
- Proficiency in Excel (VBA) & other programming languages for app development –
- Project management experience
- Ability to communicate verbally and written to all stakeholders in the organization
Desired:
- 2+ Years experience in the automotive/similar build-to-order industry - preferred.
- Experience in DFM, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing-centric principles – preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) – preferred.
