Performs routine maintenance, repair, and installation work on facility systems, equipment, and grounds to support safe and efficient operations. This position assists with electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and general maintenance activities throughout the facility. This position works independently and with other team members to troubleshoot issues, complete preventative maintenance tasks, and support continuous facility operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general maintenance and repair of facility equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and facility systems.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Assist with installation, modification, and repair of facility equipment and systems.
- Repair and maintain hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Assist with hazardous waste handling and disposal.
- Read and interpret work instructions, maintenance procedures, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Perform maintenance activities in overhead, confined, and physically demanding work environments as required.
- Operate company vehicles, utility vehicles, forklifts, or side-by-side vehicles with trailers as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with facility improvements, special projects, and equipment installations.
- Support production and operational teams by minimizing equipment downtime.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, physical, work environment):
- Must possess a HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Willingness to work overtime with little or no advance notice.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read tape measure accurately.
- Ability to work independently in isolated situations with minimal to no supervision.
- Must be able to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, squat, crawl, and climb.
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day on concrete surfaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 80 pounds team lift.
- Ability to work overhead and at elevated heights.
- Must be able to operate heavy machinery.
- Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including but not limited to outside heat in excess of 100 degrees for up to 10 hours.
- Must be able to safely operate vehicles, forklifts, utility vehicles, and heavy machinery.
