- Create a commercially practical, technically correct and economically sound design for an assigned product or unit based on predetermined mechanical characteristics. Responsible for performance requirements, weight and dimensional limits, determining the nature and working relationship of the various elements of design.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Review work orders for consistency and design conflicts
- Support sales staff in answering customer questions
- Use engineering modeling software such as but not limited to Auto Cad
- to solve complex engineering problems
- Completes hand calculations as needed to supplement analysis reports
- Review engineering drawings for accuracy of designs
- Writing reports
- Documenting units as built by producing work instructions and/or detailed assembly drawings.
Qualifications:
- Must have basic knowledge of 12V and 110V electrical wiring
- Must have the ability to use software for programming and troubleshooting automotive electrical issus.
- Candidates must possess a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
- Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Excel
- Word
- Experience working with Auto Cad is preffered
- Be able to effectively carry out assigned duties in varying work environments
- Desire to learn
- General knowledge of the layout of an ambulance and construction of its componentspreferably in an automotive related industry.
- Experience with problem solving techniques (5 why & root cause analysis), and with statistical techniques and data analysis is a plus
- Must have excellent communication skills with ability to interface directly with hourly employees as well as management level of employee concerning manufacturing initiatives and progress updates
- Must possess a high energy level with a strong work ethic
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions presented in English
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organizationation and Expeience:
- Experience in the manufacturing field preferred
- Experience working with at least one of the following Auto Cad would be preferred.
- PDF formatting
- Microsoft Excel, Word documents and Outlook
- Associate degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience
