Works closely with the Specs Team to define objectives and understand sales facing application requirements. Assist in translating business requirements into logical, economical, and practical designs to enhance existing systems. Performs program coding, testing, documentation, and operations assistance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis, diagnose problems and troubleshoot solutions with all phases of department-maintained software applications.
  • Maintaining applications and procedures to ensure optimum control and security data and efficient use of resources. Using department established programming standards in coding, testing and documenting all application creation and maintenance processes.
  • Responding to customer issues as required.
  • Prepare status reports, as requested by the manager, on programming activities and backlog.
  • Evaluate test results of programs and procedures.
  • Assist in testing, conversion and implementation.
  • Relies on team recommendations to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Establish best practice guidelines and processes to ensure consistency and completeness across product lines and businesses.
  • Create and maintain Product Knowledge Base (ability to develop and create process documents and SOP’s for XA software)
  • Ability to coach mentor and lead fellow team members.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with: XA   
  • Knowledge of commercial or custom software.
  • Verbal and written communications skills during interactions with, local users, Corporate XA team and vendor team members.
  • Consultative approach and communicate and formulate resolutions to issues and business challenges.
  • High energy level, can-do attitude, and ability to drive projects through to completion on time/on budget with a high level of customer satisfaction.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Two-year degree in computer science preferred or relevant experience.
  • Experience in Specialty Vehicles (ambulance, fire, bus) domain is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ERP Software packages XA or Mapics preferred. Technical skills including .NET development, application server and database knowledge is a plus.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
