The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse operations and the daily activities of staff.   In addition, oversees inventory levels, monitor materials, and ensure the efficient usage of warehouse space.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize workload and communicate tasks that need to be completed.
  • Assist in the planning and control of daily workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to warehouse employees and material handlers.
  • Motivate team members to ensure deadlines are understood and achieved.
  • Assist in the training and orientation.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness within the warehouse and material storage areas at the plant.
  • Authorize, supervise and maintain materials/ inventory storage set up in production locations and warehouse.
  • Maintain inventory materials on the work floor.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling and distribution of inventory.
  • Ensure all documents are filled out and completed accurately by forklift operators.
  • Responsible for any forklift operator issues that arise.
  • Count materials accurately and complete logs and reports accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • APICS Certified, with demonstrated application of the APICS Body of Knowledge within past work experience.
  • Systems knowledge – design/selection/implementation (Materials – MRP, Inventory Optimization; S&OP / Demand Planning; Purchasing; Inventory Tracking – Voice, bar codes, RFID, etc.).
  • LEAN Training with practical application and leadership experience.
  • Materials management experience in an environment including customized manufacturing, multi-level Bill of Material.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint as well as the ability to learn company enterprise systems as needed.
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize, set and keep deadlines, change direction quickly, and adapt to various work environments easily.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, including following instructions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions-oriented, and win-win approaches.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience with warehouse, or related functions.
  • High school diploma or GED.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting up to 40 pounds.

 

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Indoor/ outdoors warehouse environment.
  • Office environment.
  • Required to wear PPE in designated areas.
