Job summary:  The purchasing Buyer I will be responsible for the daily purchasing of goods, materials and services for production and support departments for assigned commodities to meet ENC’s operational requirements taking into account price, quality and delivery to ensure continuity of supply. The Buyer I will also use best practices and experience to ensure that the company is getting the best prices possible and optimum order quantities.

 

Responsibilities / Desired Skills:

  • Responsible for processing approved requisitions.
  • Develop, maintain and update bill of material and / or matrices for material within assigned commodities.
  • Responsible for timely purchasing and delivery of materials required by Work Order / Schedule.
  • Plan, order and schedule material using the Production Schedule/ goals for assigned commodities
  • Review Work Order and submit questions to assist in clarification of product build requirements for assigned commodities.  
  • Create and maintain minimum / maximum report to ensure proper levels of supply to ensure production build schedule is met.
  • Reduce stock out and line shortages for assigned commodities.
  • Responsible for processing approved requisitions.
  • Resolve invoice and receipt discrepancies.
  • Monitor and review open purchase orders and expedite as needed.
  • Assist in identification of defective or unacceptable goods, the source of defect, and required corrective action from assigned suppliers.
  • Meet minimum standards of safety and housekeeping per assigned department.

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate instructions, correspondences and memos in English.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blue prints, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize to meet production deadlines/ time management/ timely decision making.
  • Action Oriented / Self Starter/ function independently with minimal amount of supervision.
  • Drive for results.
  • Conflict Management.

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in Supply Chain, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 0-2 years related work experience, or any appropriate combination of academic and work experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience with SAP MRP purchasing system preferred.
