Job Summary:
This position will work on the new Hydrogen Electric COT truck and will be a part of a whole new line for REV Group.
Assembles fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Capable of working in 5-9 areas with little to no supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions in English.
- Close attention to detail.
- Function with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled per assigned department.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day-to-day basis.
- Meet minimum standards of safety per assigned department.
- Meet minimum standards of housekeeping per assigned department.
- Clean equipment as required.
- Assembly or assist in the assembly of each component per assigned department. Run air and power hand tools. Read and interpret shop orders.
- Meet all QA and QC standards for each assembly task per assigned department. Ensure parts are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
- Be compliant with all the rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Ensure that hazardous waste that is handled is placed into the proper container(s).
- Maintains all satellite and storage containers in a closed position unless adding or removing waste.
- Familiar with Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan.
- Knows spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
Qualification:
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to read English and Metric tape measures and use measuring devices.
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
- Works under moderate supervision.
- Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Other physical requirements include:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#’s without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to stand at a workstation for eight hours a day (minus specified breaks.)
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
- Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Hand-Eye coordination.
- Required to handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Ability to work in above 100-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
- Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
Contact with Others:
Ability to work in a “team atmosphere” or independently in a fast-paced environment.
