Job Summary:
Manages sales and marketing activities of the subsidiary by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
- Directs hourly and salary staff through training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
- Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
- Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
- Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
- Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
- Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Meets with key prospective and current clients.
- Assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals, liaison between sales department and other sales related units,
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of sales department to conform to budgetary requirements,
- Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
- Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work
- Is required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 10 years’ management experience in a manufacturing environment and 5 plus years’ successful sales experience desired.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients as well as other employees of the organization.
- Must have excellent presentation skills, ability to apply specific knowledge from Warehouse and Distribution, Intermodal, and Port markets.
- Knowledge of competitors, extensive knowledge of material handling products including Terminal Trucks.
- Working independently in the absence of supervision.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
- Must be computer literate and able to effectively use Microsoft office business suites.
- Demonstrate an ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions,
correspondence and memos in English. - Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, assembly drawing, schematics and other written or verbal instructions presented in English.
- Candidate must possess excellent organizational, leadership and management skills.
- Meet the goals and objectives of the sales department through individual and team efforts as assigned.
- The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit for extended periods of time.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40#’s.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and squat.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Work environment will include; Indoor office, US/International travel and occasionally working on production floor
- Required PPE will include; Safety glasses, Steel toed shoes, Earplugs and Work gloves.
