Under the direction of the Engineering Manager and/or Senior Engineer, this is an entry level electrical technician position where the individual assembles fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations, and performs other duties as assigned or requested. The individual will use hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications. The individual will also test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure that they meet tolerances and product specifications, identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels, and repair units as necessary. They will gain proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job and work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble or assist in the assembly of each component per assigned department.
- Assemble, troubleshoot, and repair electrical harnesses.
- Terminate and install high voltage electrical cables.
- Ensure parts are assembled per instructions for proper appearance and function.
- Set work priorities to meet production goals as scheduled per assigned department.
- Meet all QA and QC standards for each assembly task per assigned task.
- Safely operate air and power hand tools.
- Read and interpret shop orders.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintain work area cleanliness acceptable standards of housekeeping.
- Clean and maintain equipment as required to ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Maintain compliance with all rules of conduct and attendance per the company handbook.
- Maintain compliance with company safety standards per company EHS requirements.
- Ensure that hazardous material is handled, stored, and disposed of properly.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Experience & Qualifications:
- High School diploma with related field experience required; related technical school certificate or related technical degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to read Imperial and Metric tape measures and use measuring devices.
- Ability to function with a minimal amount of supervision.
- Experience with soldering and crimping methods
- Able to perform duties with a close attention to detail.
- Ability to recognize quality expected and produce work to expected quality standards.
OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Perform or assist with any operations, as required, or directed, to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.

Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to process control instructions, specifications, and quality standards. Identify and segregate non-conforming product. Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventive actions when appropriate.
FLEXIBILITY: Able and willing to work in other areas as needed. Must be flexible in taking lunch and breaks when workflow requires. Willing to work additional hours as necessary.
INITIATIVE: Actively participate in continuous improvement of products and processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of Capacity. Actively seek out work in other areas when current assignment is complete. Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety, and company profitability.

Working together as a team for continuous improvement is vital to ensure the future of Capacity and its employees. Teamwork will be required to be effective in daily production assignments as well as special improvement projects.
