Job summary:

 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The position will perform functions that include effective communication and support to customers.  Assist in resolving warranty and parts problems, project and maintain a professional image, disseminate technical information and act as a liaison for factory and customers.  Carrying out policies and programs and assisting with tasks such resolving unusual problems, service and maintenance and other matters needing the Customer Service Department’s participation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Processes warranty claims.
  • Verifies the manufacturer’s or supplier’s criteria.
  • Completes the documents required to process the claims, forwards them to the manufacturer/supplier and follows up.
  • Ensures that the amounts claimed correspond to the criteria of the manufacturer/supplier.
  • Follows up on claims, to obtain prompt approval
  • Completes pre-authorization applications in contentious cases, forwards them to the manufacturer/supplier and follows up.
  • Identifies exceptional cases which may result in special agreements with the manufacturer/supplier; completes the required documents and follows up.
  • Analyzes claims denied by the manufacturer/supplier and, if applicable, resubmits them as soon as possible or obtains authorization to cancel them.
  • Ensures that clients are invoiced for uncovered and unauthorized claims.
  • Reviews claims exceeding the time frames prescribed by the manufacturer/supplier or which are not processed in the regular manner.
  • Processes bodywork claims and makes sure to inspect the trucks and take the required photographs.
  • Explains the warranty provisions to new customers.
  • Trains internal personnel in warranty provisions or changes.
  • Ensures that defective parts are returned to the manufacturer/supplier.
  • Keeps up-to-date on all the manufacturer’s recalls and bulletins.
  • Provide Technical Support to Fire Mechanics in the field.
  • Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
  • Coordinates repairs between customers and service technicians
  • Work with all 3 brands, E-one, KME and Ferrara on warranty issues, recalls and new issues found in the field
  • Advise technicians on technical questions as they may have
  • Coordinates all warranty road calls / in house repairs with customer
  • Assist with parts sales when needed

 

 

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

 

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Due to the nature of tasks, the individual must have a high mechanical aptitude, good teaching, oral and written communication skills. Broad knowledge of multiple disciplines such as mechanics, plumbing, electrical, paint and body repair, hydraulics and customer relations. 

 

  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Proficient computer skills are required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Mathematical ability is essential throughout the claim negotiation.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Two (2) years of emergency vehicle production/parts experience.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Previous warranty related administration work preferred.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge of parts warehousing.
  • <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Understanding of a custom vehicle production.
