SCOPE: Perform duties to move materials and parts between E-One manufacturing plants, and multiple warehouse locations, pick up from and/or deliver to local or intra-state supplier locations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•              Perform daily vehicle operation and safety checks, and record results. Replenish fluids and report discrepancies and malfunctions. Drive flatbed vehicles to assigned locations.

•              Assist in loading assigned material to truck; tie down or brace into position to avoid shifting in transit and proper distribution of loads. Stage material on the truck to suit the route and for ease of unloading.

•              Work from Travelers, packing lists, and instructions.

•              Drive to designated inter-plant transfer locations or other designated material pickup locations or supplier locations to pick up and/or deliver materials, as needed. Assist receiving dock personnel to load or unload material and obtain receipt signatures as required. Record pickups and deliveries and issue related documentation to designated personnel for further processing or filing.

•              Check phone mail and respond to electronic messages in a timely manner and communicate with the Logistics Department to define material movement requirements and priorities.

•              Must be able to perform within physical requirements including, but not limited to 40 lb. single lift; walking, kneeling, squatting, and standing for long periods of time. 

 

OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

•              Perform or assist with any Materials operations, as required, or directed, to maintain workflow or respond to Materials requirements when not performing truck driving duties.

•              Follow safety rules, ensure safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility, and notify the supervisor of unusual operating conditions.

•              Attend and participate in a variety of meetings, training programs, and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a specific level of knowledge pertaining to changes to equipment or process, new developments, requirements, procedures, and policies. Assist with the training and orientation of new or transferred employees as directed.

 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

•              Various straps and tie-down equipment to secure shipments.

•              Forklift, pallet jack.

•              Various vehicles: vans, trucks, box trucks, flat beds.

Proper use of PPE; use only defect-free equipment. Promote safety in the department. Use proper lifting techniques and an overhead hoist when needed. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with 5-S Philosophy. Participate in hazardous communication training and safety meetings.

2.            QUALITY: Responsible for the quality of work. This requires defect-free work and an understanding of the requirements of the company’s quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities. Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to process control instructions, specifications, and quality standards. Identify and segregate non-conforming products. Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventive actions when appropriate.

3.            FLEXIBILITY: Able and willing to work in other areas as needed. Must be flexible in taking lunch and breaks when workflow requires. Willing to work additional hours as necessary.

4.            INITIATIVE: Actively participate in continuous improvement of products and processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of E-ONE. Actively seek out work in other areas when a current assignment is complete. Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety, and company profitability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•              High School Diploma or equivalent

•              Must have a Valid/ Clean Florida-issued driver’s license.

•              Forklift license (must be able to obtain an E-ONE-issued forklift license)

•              Must obtain a CDL within one year of holding position.
