SCOPE: Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, and affirmative action.  This position also provides assistance in the administration of all company benefit programs covering health and welfare plans, life, 401(k) plans, voluntary benefits and other programs. Responsibilities also include COBRA administration, FMLA, communicating benefit changes, resolving employee benefit issues and providing administrative support to the executive Human Resources Team. Requires well developed team skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence and presence to effectively handle interpersonal relationships.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for implementation and interpretation of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Facilitates and/or provides New Employee Orientation to the workforce.
  • Review resumes, screen, interview, coordinate team interviews, and recruit job applicants to fill non-exempt, professional and technical job openings
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Export benefit files weekly from HRIS Benefit Vendors. Manual update of employee changes to BCBS website.
  • Import retirement plan loans and deferrals weekly from MassMutual to individual payroll files in HRIS
  • Responsible for COBRA enrollments on Discovery website
  • Audit payroll/personnel changes in HRIS
  • Conduct  yearly 401 (k) Nondiscrimination and Compliance audits
  • Prepare monthly invoices for STD, LTD, Group Life and Optional Life Insurance
  • Administer all FMLA benefits and maintain PHI documents for employees
  • Administer STD benefits for employees. Communicate STD weekly benefit payments to payroll.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Oversee employee relations at the designated Plants
  • Complete COBRA Subsidy reports for tax filing

  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.

Proper use of PPE; use only defect-free equipment. Promote safety in department. Use proper lifting techniques and overhead hoist when needed. Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with 5-S Philosophy. Participate in hazardous communication training and safety meetings.

QUALITY: Responsible for the quality of work. This requires defect-free work and understanding of the requirements of the company’s quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities. Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to process control instructions, specifications, and quality standards. Identify and segregate non-conforming product. Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventive actions when appropriate.  Follow the 3 Don’ts: 1) Don’t accept poor quality; 2) Don’t make poor quality; 3) Don’t pass poor quality.

FLEXIBILITY: Able and willing to work in other areas as needed. Must be flexible in taking lunch and breaks when workflow requires. Willing to work additional hours as necessary.

INITIATIVE: Actively participate in continuous improvement of products and processes to better serve customers and improve the overall profitability of E-ONE. Actively seek out work in other areas when current assignment is complete. Make suggestions for improving product quality, processes, safety, and company profitability.  Submit these implemented improvements utilizing our Minor Kaizen process.

TEAMWORK: Positive working attitude toward other employees; be a team player. Work with others constructively and abide by company policies and procedures. Working together as a team for continuous improvement is vital to ensure the future of E-ONE and its employees. Teamwork will be required to be effective in daily production assignments as well as special improvement projects.

Lean:  To daily utilize your skills and experience to eliminate waste and continually improve your process.  Additionally, develop your knowledge of Lean through supporting your area in maintaining the highest levels of 5S; utilizing visual management tools that highlight problems and solve those problems for true root cause; participate and support kaizen events; and participating in the Lean Certification and Minor Kaizen programs.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT: Attend and participate in a variety of meetings, training programs, and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to changes to equipment or process, new developments, requirements, procedures, and policies. Work towards obtaining your Bronze Lean Certification.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7 years of experience in the HR field, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
  • 4 years experience in benefit and 401(k) functions
  • Proficient in MS Office Products

 

PHYSICAL  REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
