SCOPE: Facilities Maintenance Managers are responsible for directing maintenance personnel involved in servicing electrical and mechanical problems arising from the operations of production equipment and machineries, as well as building maintenance, in compliance with Company Policies as well as State, County, City and Federal regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•             Work is assigned only in terms of broad objectives to be accomplished, and is reviewed for policy, soundness of approach and general effectiveness. Outline more difficult problems and method of approach.

•             Coordinates work programs and directs use of equipment and material.

•             Supervision of employees for the repair and maintenance of production equipment, buildings and grounds.

•             Assist in development of capital equipment budget, research, specify, select and write justifications for equipment procedures. 

•             Assist in organization of equipment installation. 

•             Collects and distributes follow up measurements. Recommend and implement process improvement procedures.

•             Coordinate projects between various departments and Plants.

•             Review and assist in coordination of manufacturing expansion plans with the Vice President of Operations and Plant Managers in order to establish project management tools such as budgets, timeliness and cost tracking.

•             Assist in preparation all necessary justification for facility expansion projects and acquires all appropriate AFE approvals.

•             Develop a project planning and specification team with the Plant Manager of the appropriate facility as required.

•             Solicit required construction/product engineering packages as needed (i.e., site plan, building construction, electricity, sprinkler, etc. and vehicle products) in order to submit for Federal, State, County, City, and/or sales approval prior to the release of bid proposal packages.

•             Coordinate the submittal of all required permit applications to Federal, State, County and City departments in order to obtain approvals on a timely basis for project completion.

•             Develop proposal packages for solicitation of bids and develop analysis tools in order to make contract award recommendations.

•             Coordinates training and job rotation plans to provide adequate resources for projects, shop order reviews and reference drawings.

•             Develop and monitor departmental budget, staffing, annual operating and strategic development plans. Make recommendations for departmental improvements to management.

•             Implement the plant’s overall preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

•             Responsible for keeping records of equipment failures and provide needed information and data to Plant Managers.

•             Provide the list of tasks and schedules for the plant’s personnel during normal operating hours, scheduled outage and forced outage scenarios.

•             Create outage plans for short and long term periods. Maintenance managers should keep the plant’s maintenance manual and safety manual up to date, making sure that they comply with requirements of the local, state and federal government.

•             Make sure that vendor maintenance and repair manuals are kept current and filed properly. Plant and equipment maintenance managers take steps to maintain the morale and motivate maintenance personnel.

•             Ability to communicate effectively with other plant personnel and convey needed information to Vice President of Operations, Director of Operations and Plant Managers, such as the status of plant equipment and performance, being able to give suggestions for operating improvements.

•             Lead the 3rd part security team. Evaluate, assess, and justify security process improvements to ensure a safe and security facility that protects people and property.

•             This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent. The right candidate for the job should have strong motivational and leadership skills, and have experience not only in supervising technical personnel but administrative and supervisory personnel as well.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•             A minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

•             Requires a minimum of 6 years’ experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.

•             knowledge of the organization, manufacturing processes, and world class manufacturing tools and techniques

•             This position requires a high degree of independent judgment, discretion and.

•             Knowledge of engineering schematics, symbols, change procedures, processes and knowledge of material specifications and characteristics is required.

•             Must have strong project management skills, strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of professional interface with departmental managers and vendors.

 

 

PHYSICAL  REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
