SCOPE:
Independently oversee the build of custom fire trucks. Assist in the design and configuration of the truck in the early stages and then manage the project through the build process. This involves acting as a liaison between the sales representative/customer and the engineering and manufacturing teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review incoming orders for completeness and conformance to established requirements (NFPA/ULC)
- Facilitate prebuild meetings with dealers and customers with staff support.
- Resolve engineering order review questions with dealers.
- Coordinates and participates in final inspections and delivery of units with dealers and customers.
- Reviews change orders for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established company requirements, with staff support as needed, while performing associated clerical duties.
- Coordinates communications concerning orders among the dealer, customer, sales, engineering, production, purchasing and finance personnel.
- Inspects unit before dealer and customer arrive for final inspection to ensure build accuracy.
- Interacts with a variety of customers, which can include interaction with other departments, managers, customers, vendors, etc.
- Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain workflow or respond to production requirements.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
- Microsoft Office, Excel, ERP/Sales Systems
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree preferred
- 3+ years’ work experience with proven track record of outstanding customer service.
- Customer service liaison experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Order Detail Sheets / Sales Layout-Drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment, especially with design and production teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality customer service
- Understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Open-minded about new technologies and cloud-based systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk or sit
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to lift or carry items up to 10–15 pounds (such as files, laptops, or office supplies).
- Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Visual ability to read documents, screens, and reports.
- Clear verbal communication for meetings, phone calls, and presentations.
- Ability to focus on detailed tasks for sustained periods.
