Promote the sales and service of Spartan ER products within the region by working with local independent dealerships and customers to increase sales and market share.  This position requires an intelligent, analytical and highly motivated marketing and sales professional that is flexible and can interface effectively at the highest corporate level yet have the ability to adapt to a small company environment.  This position also requires a high degree of integrity and a proven record of relating with and managing people to maximize human resources.  Must be a participative, team-oriented person able to interact well with people at all organizational levels and have sensitivity for distributor relations.  This individual should be a strong communicator with good public speaking abilities and be able to sell ideas in both an oral and written manner.  Because of the nature of the product, must have mechanical aptitude and be able to communicate on a technical level. Strong analytical, written and oral communication and organizational skills are required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the sales and service dealership organizations within the territory to achieve sales objectives.
  • Develop sales strategies and establish sales objectives in line with organizational objectives, promoting sales within the assigned region.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales representatives and customers by assisting with reviews of specifications and bid documents. Prepare bid specifications when needed.
  • Develop sales financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating sales requirements, trends and variances; develop actions plans; measure and analyze results.
  • Assist in the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
  • Product training as needed for new sales representatives.
  • Perform presentations, demo walk-arounds and spec writing meetings with the local sales representatives.
  • Facilitate and assist in customer visits, demonstrations, product advertising and sales forecasting including planning conventions, shows.   
  • Participate in pre-construction, in process and final inspection customer visits as needed.
  • Provide monthly reporting as required. Track sales volume and goals, sales projections and activity reports.
  • Maintain the lead tracking software for all current open deals.
  • Attend regional and national trade shows as needed.
  • Assist with demo unit movement in and out of the assigned territory. Approve demo request and fuel reimbursements.
  • Recommend improvements to the current product offering.
  • Work with the pre and post sales departments for open items that are causing concern.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field or a combination of education and/or experience preferred.

• 5+ years' similar industry experience preferred.

• Must reside within the region territory.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.  Will be exposed to confidential information and will be required to sign a standard confidentiality and non-compete agreement.

Will work in a home office setting with frequent exposure to customer locations and at times on the factory floor. Travel will be required up to 75% of the time. Required to comply with all safety and environmental rules, regulations and guidelines including PPE requirements. May be exposed to dust, noise or hazardous materials.  May be required to handle material up to 40 pounds in weight.
