The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales effort and field execution within a defined territory. This will include working with both factory direct accounts as well as in coordination with the ENC dealer network. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for sales growth, market expansion, and go to market strategies for assigned territories. This position pioneers and grows relationships both corporately and in the field and identifies, develops, and implements a sales strategy within the assigned territory that will create new sales opportunities. The Regional Sales Manager leads the strategic plan for given accounts and is responsible for coordinating internal functional areas to deliver a unified face to the customer.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plan focused on growing sales.
  • Develop accurate and detailed metrics to facilitate effective business forecasting and resource allocation.
  • Manage dealers within assigned territory for achievement of sales goals and margin targets.
  • Analyze and review sales trends to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Achieve contribution margin target and required sales goals for both factory direct and dealer generated opportunities.
  • Analyzes territory opportunities and discovers customer needs.
  • Develops and implements strategic relationships with key decision makers.
  • Generates and develops new business.
  • Emphasis on emerging technologies with emphasis on promoting zero emission buses.
  • Conducts sales presentations and provides training on new programs and products.
  • Is willing and able to acquire a Class B CDL driver’s license with air brake and passenger endorsement for bus demonstrations.  
  • Manage territory sales pipeline for consistent flow of sales opportunities.
  • Creation, management and execution of regional customer sales capture plan.
  • Develop broad and deep account relationships.
  • Understanding and promoting funding and grant opportunities.
  • Negotiate and closes contracts.
  • Expand ENC’s existing business and focuses on ways to expand ENC’s business into new areas.
  • Negotiate placement of new and existing products and programs with current and prospective customers.
  • Drive flawless customer service execution, analyzes the current business, and implements new strategies for customer service.
  • Works with the Marketing Department to develop initiatives, product/component offerings that drive sales efforts.
  • Manages and works state and regional transit conferences and trade shows to maximize return on investment.

 

Minimal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of successful recent sales or marketing experience working within assigned channel
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight up to 75%.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years sales experience working directly with the transit bus industry as a vehicle or component salesperson.

  • Proficient in utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Basic understanding for the vehicle RFP/IFB process.
  • Basic commercial vehicle mechanical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the internal processes and systems that support sales accounts.
  • Proven success in developing and fostering business relationships within assigned channels.
  • Previous business planning, budgeting skill
