Essential Job Functions:
- Follow standard operating procedures as well as written and verbal orders and instructions in English.
- Lift up to 75 lbs. and be in good physical condition. Standing, bending, climbing, crawling, and lying on hard surfaces as well as upper body and back strength required.
- Follow all company policies and procedures as stated in the company policy and safety manual including wearing safety glasses, safety toed footwear, hardhats, and other required PPE per area.
- Able to work in a noisy environment.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Actively pursue cost reduction measures.
- Perform all assigned tasks within specific time limits and company standards.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Must comply with all safety regulations regarding the work area, the product and equipment. Recognize and report all safety discrepancies to your supervisor.
- Willing to develop a thorough knowledge of all aspects of this field including products, options, & uses.
- Ability to learn how to read and understand simple blue prints.
- Ability & willingness to be cross-trained in respective departments.
- Able to learn about parts and where they are used as well as the number required per assigned task.
- Communicate with department leaders when items run low in order to restock/reorder parts.
- Possess some prior experience from outside of the company or has mastered all the required skills at the previous level in order to advance.
- Willingness to share department and company knowledge as needed.
- Ability to write down information for future reference.
Daily Functions:
- Ensures assemblers have the material and supplies needed to perform their job function without interruption or delays
- Follows all safety guidelines for safe forklift operation
- Keeps all stock items and Work In Process parts organized and stocked
- Assist Assemblers with material needs throughout the day.
- Separate all parts and put on shelves in a super market inventory system
- Keep parts needed for the day on the on line cart and all other items needed when employees call for them.
- Keep portable carts stocked/moved in appropriate cells.
- Assist in appropriate cells as needed.
- Source parts from different departments as required.
- Be able to operate electric fork lift as required.
- Conduct accurate and timely daily cycle counts
- Keeps material stocked at Point of Use
- Conducts rounds the same way performing replenishment tasks identically each and every time.
- Takes finished goods from the work area, drop kanban cards, refill bins from central locations, and removes waste materials.
- Must possess thorough knowledge of complete truck assembly line operations.
- Must be able to work in a high pace environment.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the materials, tools and methods of the manufacturing process.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others.
- Collaborative working style and thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience in 5S activities, problem solving and Continuous Improvement processes.
- Forklift experience.
- Outstanding attention to detail and high personal quality expectations.
- Self-directed and self-motivated with a proven work ethic and ability to perform under pressure.
- Possess excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
Potential Hazards:
- Eye injuries: required to wear eye protection and face shield when sanding to prevent eye injury.
- Trips, slips, & falls: ensure all air hoses and obstacles are kept clear of aisles. Use caution when climbing on and off trucks. Make sure all spills are cleaned up immediately. Do not leave tools, parts etc. on top of trucks. Be cautious of open doors, tools and racks that can easily be struck.
- Heavy lifting: ask co-worker for help or use a crane or forklift operator when lifting objects over 50 lbs. Do not walk under suspended parts and be cautious of co-workers when operating cranes.
- Cuts & burns: Use caution and wear PPE to prevent cuts when sanding or drilling.
