The Sales Assistant position is responsible for photographing/videoing fire apparatus at various stages throughout the production process as well as preparing NFPA compliant manuals, and providing additional support for inside and outside sales upon request. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Administrative Functions – NFPA Manual Preparation & Assembly

  • Oversee the preparation and assembly of NFPA manuals for apparatus produced at the Snyder, NE campus, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manual Updates: Collaborate with Customer Service to incorporate revisions and ensure all manuals reflect the most up-to-date information.
  • Inspection Packets: Compile and organize final inspection packets for dealers/customers, including manuals, ship-loose documentation, Statement of Exception, and UL Certifications.
  • Demo Apparatus Documentation: Prepare comprehensive demo books for all demo apparatus manufactured in Snyder.
  • Print & Distribution Management: Coordinate printing and shipment of manuals when physical copies are required.
  • Electronic Manual Handling: Load digital copies of manuals onto USBs and ensure proper delivery to customers and dealers.
  • Documentation & Tracking: Maintain and update the Ship Loose Document and Ship Short Spreadsheet with accurate shipping details.

2. Clerical & Office Support

  • Document Control: Perform scanning, filing, and digital archiving to maintain organized and easily retrievable records.
  • Special Projects: Take ownership of small-scale projects as assigned, ensuring completion within set deadlines.

3. Product Photography

  • Capture high-quality images of fire apparatus at various production stages, including incoming chassis upon arrival and completion.
  • Photograph completed apparatus for marketing purposes, ensuring professional, high-resolution images.
  • Document special apparatus features for Customer Service, Sales, and Production, creating a searchable database with photo attachments for easy reference.
  • Efficiently share photographs via SmugMug with internal staff, customers, and dealers at least once or twice weekly, depending on production volume.
  • Upload and manage photographs on a WordPress-based website, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.

 

4. Professional Customer Interaction

  • Answer incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy, providing prompt assistance to customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure every customer is fully satisfied before concluding the call.
  • Direct customer inquiries and information requests to the appropriate department or personnel.
  • Communicate customer concerns and issues effectively to relevant internal teams for resolution.

5. Task & Priority Management

  • Execute assigned tasks efficiently, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and business objectives.

6. Quality & Efficiency

  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy and quality in all tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.

7. Additional Duties

  • Adapt to changing priorities and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 30 feet
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted
