Maintenance Tech performs facility maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical, grounds maintenance, and vehicle servicing.  The maintenance tech is responsible for performing preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks including troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  •  Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as welders, pneumatic hand tools, electric hand tools, pumps, motors, compressors, etc.
  •  Repair or replace control devices such as switches, sensors, button controllers, valves, motor starters, etc.
  •  Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments
  •  Document repair reports
  •  Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment
  •  Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programming
  •  Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned area
  •  Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etc., as required □ Performs all aspects of facilty maintenance
  •  Performs all machinery maintenance - change parts or perform other routine machinery maintenance
  •  Completes grounds maintenance, including snow removal
  •  Manage spare parts inventory
  •  Assist with Safety/Environmental tasks
  •  Self-check work and inspect prior processes
  •  Meet production goals
  •  Maintain a clean and safe work area
  •  Initiate process improvements when able
  •  Work in close proximity to customer, as needed
  •  Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
  •  Assist other team members and departments as needed
  •  Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Flexibility with time and schedule - must be able to work with schedules and deadlines
  • Must have a good general mechanical background and a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must have pneumatics and hydraulics experience
  • Minimum basic knowledge of electrical/electronic background, with an advanced background preferred
  • Welding experience
  • 2-4 years experience in manufacturing and facilities maintenance
  • 1 year experience with HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair-120v & 480v
  • (consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience)
  • Familiar with a variety of maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures, including PM
  • Relies on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
  • Knowledgeable in procedures, safety measures in area(s) of specialty and LOTO
  • Work with OSHA and EPA guidelines
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks
  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
  • Ability to work in a team environment
