Primary Functions:

 

Responsible for processing accounts payable invoices per company policy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Processing A/P invoices ensuring correctness.
  • Inputting and managing all documents into computer.
  • Prepare A/P paper checks and ACH files.
  • Communicate with Vendors.
  • Maintain files.
  • Complete month-end close in a timely manner.
  • Contact vendors to resolve invoice problems.
  • Maintain vendor database on AS400.
  • Enter warranty payments into database.
  • Enter chasse payments into database.
  • Close attention to detail
  • Function efficiently with a minimal amount of supervision or no supervision.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those in contact on a day-to-day basis.
  • Meet minimum standards of safety per assigned department.
  • Meet minimum standards of housekeeping per assigned department.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Must maintain a positive rating as described in the training/qualification evaluation record as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Must be computer literate and have some working knowledge of a general APICS or MAPICS system.
  • Must be able to effectively use Lotus and/or Microsoft Office including Excel/Access/Word
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Hand-eye coordination.

Usually, the employee will perform the majority of this job in an office environment.  However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

 

Experience:

 

  • Three (3) years A/P clerical experience.
  • Mainframe (A/P) experience.
  • Ten-key by touch
  • Prior AS400/MAPICS experience preferred.

 

Education:

 

  • High School diploma required.
  • College courses in Accounting is beneficial.

 

Personal Protective Equipment Recommended and/or Required:

 

  • Safety glasses if walking in plant vicinity.
  • Earplugs if walking in plant vicinity.
  • Safety toed shoes if walking in plant vicinity.
