Job summary:  Directly involved in managing which body fabricated parts are being run on a day-to-day basis by setting sequenced set properties per line schedules and hot items needed. Work close with body fabrication and Aftermarket Parts (Sales and Warranty Departments) to manage body fabricated parts being complete per schedules and request.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Creates instructions for machines operators.
  • Reviews 3D CAD design prints
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications optimizing material yield.
  • Translates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
  • Communicates with engineers and operators who will use the program.
  • Prepares geometric layout of designs using proper software.
  • Determines sequence of operations in a program
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Analyzes job order and performs necessary calculations.
  • Makes improvements to set up times for a task.
  • Simplifies tooling time for jobs and increases equipment productivity/cycle while maintaining quality.
  • Evaluates all completed designs to validate their functions and ensure they successfully reduce time and cost.
  • Monitors all programs to make sure they follow engineering specifications and provides feedback when a design change is required to complete the task safely and successfully.
  • Provides training for operators on automated systems.
  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensures maximum run time per production shift.

               

Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Business suites including Excel/Word.
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills
  • Must have the ability to read prints and drawings.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Knowledge of electronics and machine tools
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience operating CNC equipment.
  • Previous experience in CNC programing.
  • Proficient in various computer software such as: Sigma Nest, CAD, and Raydan
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.)
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Required to handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
  • Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.
  • Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
