Job summary: Responsible for the installation of vinyl flooring in ambulances, ensuring high-quality results while adhering to safety and production standards.
Responsibilities:
- Install vinyl flooring and related components in ambulances, including cutting, fitting, and sealing.
- Prepare surfaces for vinyl installation, ensuring proper cleaning, leveling, and priming as needed.
- Measure and cut vinyl flooring accurately to fit complex vehicle layouts.
- Installation of all non-electrical interior/exterior components and hardware.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in vinyl floor installation.
- Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges.
- Document installation processes and report any material or equipment issues.
- Assist in inventory management, including tracking vinyl materials and adhesives.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure precision and quality.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines.
- Assist in training other installers as needed.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Comply with company safety and 5S standards.
- Meet QA and QC standards for all installations.
- Adhere to company conduct and attendance policies.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
- Ensure all hazardous waste containers are sealed when not in use.
- Understand and follow the Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan, including spill response and evacuation procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in English.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and layouts.
- Familiarity with measuring tools (linear and other devices).
- One year of experience in a manufacturing or related environment preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Fundamental knowledge of power tools and pneumatic equipment.
- Understanding of OSHA and EPA standards.
- Basic math skills.
- Hazardous materials handling training.
- Familiarity with adhesives, sealants, and vinyl flooring installation techniques.

- Work from ladders or scaffolding as needed.
- Stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Operate hand, air, power tools, and machinery safely.
- Operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Tolerate heat up to 105°F and noisy, dusty conditions.
