Responsible for leadership, problem solving, and overall production goals for their assigned work cell. Reports to supervisor or manager of the assigned department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading and assisting personnel in the completion of daily production tasks.
- Responsible for communicating tasks and instruction to work cell personnel.
- Responsible for completing Leadership Training Program. (See HR Representative for details.)
Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate in English and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to prioritize work, work independently, establish and maintain working relationships with other employees.
- Must be able to use linear and other measuring devices including but not limited to scales and gauges.
- Must have basic PC Skills and be capable of accessing the required AS400 information to perform the required duties.
- May be required to obtain licenses and/or certifications (i.e. Forklift cert., Welding cert., Bronze Lean cert.)
Education and experience:
- Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for job.
- Must successfully complete the Wheeled Coach Leadership Training Program.
- Four years experience in a Wheeled Coach or related manufacturing environment.
- Must be familiar with all aspects and processes of the department assigned.
- Should be able to qualify for the highest ranking job classification within the department assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Other physical requirements include:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40#’s without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day (minus specified breaks.)
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.
- Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Required to handle and dispose of hazardous waste.
- Ability to work in 105-degree heat for excess of ten (10) hours per day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is elevated.

- Safety glasses, or prescription safety glasses with side shields
- Ear plugs
- Close-toed shoes required on plant floor
